Filton Hill School

School Council

We are a very open community and seek the views of the whole school community through pupils.

This is achieved through the School Council that has been established to ensure that the views of our learners are represented and acted upon.

Children are elected to the council by their peers and serve for a period of one year. Following the meetings, minutes are displayed and representatives give feedback to their individual class and lead discussions within their group.

Children from Filton Hill also represent the school on the Olympus Trust Council, along with representatives from the other schools in the Trust.

"We enjoy meeting children from other schools in the Trust and we're often curious about things they're working on. We magpie ideas from one another and work together on projects that all the children across the Trust can take part in."

Examples of what they have achieved:

  • Improvements to toilets and selection of decoration colours
  • Involvement with catering staff to improve school dinners
